Phil Lawson

Founder and Chairman

Phil Lawson is founder and Chairman of LHP Capital. He has more than 45 years of experience in real estate finance and development. Prior to founding LHP, Phil served more than 20 years as Chief Financial Officer of Lawler Wood, LLC and 10 years practicing as an independent CPA, primarily representing real estate developers and syndicators. He began his career in the Atlanta office of Coopers & Lybrand.

Phil is a co-founder of the Tennessee Developers Council and a founding director of Meridian Trust. Along with two of his LHP partners, Phil established the non-profit Legacy Housing Foundation as a vehicle for giving back to affordable housing residents. His past community service includes membership on the boards of the Knoxville Americana Music Foundation, Knoxville Habitat for Humanity, Wesley House Community Center, WDVX Radio, Beck Cultural Exchange Center and the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation. Phil earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee and is a Certified Public Accountant.
